For those who remember the Riot/Strike night we had at the Queen Vic a couple of years ago to celebrate/remember the centenary of the events of that historical day in 1911, we are doing it all over again!

On the 14th of this month we will be having a poems and pints night, with lots of music and song and hopefully a few poets!

So dust off your Protest / Railway / Patriotic and Revolutionary songs and come along and see if we can recapture some of the atmosphere of that night!

As part of the Burry Port Carnival this coming weekend, members of the Burry Port Folk Club will be performing on Friday night in the marquee near the harbour at Marina Fields.

There will be a a performance form Broadcaster/Writer/Poet John Bilsborough and the night will finish with the headline local folk/bluegrass band 'UP THE CREEK'.

Admission is £5 (tickets available from Graham at the Folk Club this Monday).

Licensed Bar and Hog Roast on the night.

7.30pm - 11pm at Marina Fields.

Charity BBQ - Glanmwrwg Fawr,Llangennech (Saturday 1st June, 2013)

Last summer saw the first Charity BBQ in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, held at Chris & Marion Slader's farm in Llangennech.

For anyone who wasn't there, it was a great day with lots of money raised for a worthy cause.

This year promises to be even bigger and better!

There'll be great food and lots of performers - just bring yourself something to drink and any donations towards raffles and prizes are always welcome!

The Mayor's Parlour April 19, 2013

A great night to celebrate the imminent end to Roger's term as Deputy Mayor.

An evening of music, food and drinks saw a gathering of friends from various events and folk clubs.

There was a good representation from the Folk Up The Track stalwarts (in case you didn't slready know, the next FUTT night is on April 30, 2013...). All in all a

 fitting end to a great year of events.

The night also served as a nice pre-cursor to the upcoming charity BBQ at Chris & Marion Slader's to take place on June the 1st. For anyone who wasn't there last year, a great time was had by all and a substantial amount of money was raised in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust. If anything, this year's event looks like being bigger and better!

Congratulations and thanks to Roger & Ruth for a lovely evening!

A short but pleasant train journey (for a small fare) on the Heart Of Wales line, takes you to the Great Western pub in Ammanford for a evening of Folk & Acoustic music. Train departs Ammanford just after 9pm for the journey home.
